Exxelia expands footprint in India with strategic investment in SVM

Enhancing its Magnetics offering for Medical and adding Busbars to its power electronics passive components portfolio.


PARIS, France and CHENNAI, India, November 4th, 2024 – Exxelia, a leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance passive components and sub-systems, announces the acquisition of 70% of SVM Private Limited, a prominent Indian company specialized in the design and manufacturing of critical magnetic components and busbars, specifically serving the healthcare and industrial end-markets.

Founded in 1989 by Hemalatha and Ramprasad Meka, SVM has 35 years of expertise in the design, development, and manufacturing of coils, transformers, and laminated or coated/plated busbars. Over the years, the company has become a leader in critical magnetic solutions for medical imaging applications, leveraging its deep understanding of all relevant standards and strong commitment to quality.

Mr. Meka, who serves as SVM’s Managing Director will continue to own 30% of SVM and will remain in his current leadership role. Aside from an upcoming change of name where SVM will be renamed as Exxelia SVM, the company will continue to operate from its current Chennai facility and does not expect any material Team Member turnover to result from the acquisition.

Through this partnership, Exxelia is reinforcing its footprint in India, enhancing its product offer with busbars and expanding its know-how and expertise in magnetics while strengthening its position in the medical sector, a key area of development.

KPMG Corporate Finance acted as the exclusive financial advisor to the shareholders of SVM Private Limited for this transaction. On the legal side, VNS Legal Partners acted as the legal advisors to SVM shareholders and Pioneer Legal acted as the legal advisors to Exxelia.

Exxelia Micropen agrandit son site de production à Honeoye Falls

Pour répondre à la demande actuelle et future, Exxelia Micropen a achevé la construction de son installation de Honeoye Falls de plus de 20 %. Parmi l'ajout de 9 000 m², l’agrandissement comprend 5 000 m² de salle blanche, permettant à l'entreprise de doubler la capacité de ses opérations de fabrication.   Exxelia Micropen utilise sa technologie exclusive pour "imprimer" des lignes ultra-précises d'encres conductrices sur des surfaces tridimensionnelles et flexibles, y compris des dispositifs médicaux avancés. La technologie est également utilisée pour fabriquer des résistances hautes performances pour un large éventail d'applications exigeantes dans les domaines de l'aérospatiale, de l'imagerie et de l'électronique. Depuis 2017, l'entreprise a connu une croissance à deux chiffres chaque année alors que la demande pour ses services innovants d'ingénierie, de conception et de fabrication s'est intensifiée.   "Alors que nous continuons à développer de nouveaux partenariats pour répondre aux besoins uniques des clients à travers le monde, la taille des locaux ne répondait plus aux besoins", "L'expansion nous permet d'augmenter nos volumes de production tout en continuant à fournir les technologies innovantes et les délais de service et de livraison exceptionnels sur lesquels nos clients comptent." a déclaré Ed Petrazzolo, PDG d'Exxelia Micropen.   Exxelia Micropen s'est associé à Hamilton Stern Construction et Hanlon Architects pour l'agrandissement, qui a commencé au printemps. En plus de l'espace de fabrication, le projet comprend un nouveau hall, une salle de repos pour les employés et davantage d'espace de bureau. Le parking est également passé à 140 places.   « L'agrandissement des installations d'Exxelia Micropen est un excellent exemple du succès de notre service de conception-construction, qui offre aux clients une expérience cohérente pour gagner du temps et réduire les coûts », a déclaré Justin Hamilton, directeur, Hamilton Stern . « Notre partenariat étroit avec Hanlon Architects, Marathon Engineering et Exxelia Micropen a permis de réaliser ce projet en 13 mois environ, tout en maintenant pleinement les volumes de production de l'installation.
